TOM's Story
Hello class of 62,
Most of you won't remember me as I felt I had to leave school and help the family,in late 59. I was in school long enough to have my picture in the 1960 year book.
I went to work at the New England Oyster House and the pigeon hole parking down town.
In Feb. of 60 I turned 17 and joined the Air Force in April. I did continue my education while in the service. I received a G.E.D. in North Carolina in 62, a regular high school diploma from Wagner High while stationed in Thailand and an A.A.in Logicistics and Business Management, while stationed in Ft. ch FL.
I flew on B-52 bombers (as crew chief and mechanic) from Guam to Vietnam for two years 66 to 68 and then again for a year out of Thailand.
My favorite assignments were 5 years at Hickam AFB. Hawaii and 4 yeas in Spain where I met my wife Maria-Jose (Mary-Jo). I retired from the Air Force in 1991 after 31 yrs. 5 months and 2 days.
Mary-Jo and I then opened up a Bar and resturant on the coast south of Barcelona where we had our home.
After four years the long hours got old so we came back to Florida.
We now live in Winter Haven fl. So if you are ever in the area look us up.
